BIZ TALK | 4 Tips for Getting Back to Bizness after Iso
After months of social distancing and isolation, service-based businesses are finding ourselves able to take on clients in person again in the very near future.
However, "business as usual" is going to look VERY different for many of us.
There are going to be some radically big shifts in the way we might work after the current wave of the pandemic is under control. Because there is no going back to the way things were.
With uncertainty about what's around the corner, it's wise to have a plan of how you are going to start easing back into face to face bookings,
Here's 4 tips on re-opening in a time of change:
Take it slowly
Ease into things gradually. You don't have to have it all figured out just yet. You don't have to rush back into things if you don't want to, or if you feel like it's what everyone else is doing.
Set you own pace of when you'll start seeing customers, around what feels safest for you.
Modify your comms and contracts if needed
You may need to look at your contracts and re-assess your comms to reflect any changes in policy in light of restrictions easing.
If you're making changes to web copy or to contracts, make sure you keep the old copy somewhere, just in case you need to revert to it again.
Let your customers know aboutany policy changes or new practices
When are you re-opening for business? What do your customers need to know to feel safe? What are you doing to protect yourself and your team?
Make sure this is reflected in your appointment info, as well as cancellation policies. Let them know that you are planning for contingencies and you’re ready to help.
Be gentle on yourself
Set new boundaries if you find your needs have changed during this time. Many of us
are finding we are burnt out and our pre-covid way of life may have been exhausting us. Perhaps it's not sustainable to be going at the same pace? If your pace has changed, that's totally cool.
Set boundaries with yourself about when you will work and when you will not. Commit to self care. Work out what feels right for you at this time.
As with all things, the companies and individuals that quickly adapt, innovate and transform will come out far ahead after this experience.
